Welcome to the Lakelands Master Gardener Website

The Lakelands Master Gardeners Association (LMGA) is a non-profit organization that is affiliated with the Clemson University Extension Service. The Lakelands Master Gardener program serves all people regardless of socioeconomic level, race, color, sex, religion, disability or national origin.

Has your community, school, organization or neighborhood taken on a community beautification project? Are you struggling to keep your project organized and your volunteers motivated? Would you like tried and true advice from a group of volunteers who have been in your shoes and have succeeded with a variety of community beautification projects?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, then the Green Thumb Gardeners Manual is here to help you. This manual has been prepared and designed by the Lakelands Master Gardeners to help community groups throughout the state of South Carolina and the Southeast plan, develop and implement community beautification projects.
It is designed as a teaching aid to walk you through your beautification project step-by-step from the project inception to project completion and dedication. It is a must for those community groups who have an interest in providing an educational foundation in tending parks, gardens and trails for their volunteers and their communities.
