Saturday, Oct. 29th, the Lakelands Master Gardeners tackled another beautification
project. This project was at the Greenwood Metropolitan District’s water feature.
Eleven Master Gardeners were met at 9:00am with a cool 42 degree temperature and cloudy,
damp condi-tions. But the weather didn’t stop them from having a wonderful morning full
of laughs and fun. For two and a half hours they moved two Junipers and planted 31 pansies.
Next they planted some Dwarf Gardenias, Mis-canthus Sinenis Grass, Pink Muhly Grass and two
Dwarf Holly bushes. They finished the project off with a layer of pine straw mulch for just
the right look. The Lakelands Master Gardeners continue to serve the Lakelands area year
round with horticultural help and education.
